[Greek] ἀναθεωρέω (anatheōreō), [Latin] videre, [Latin] intueri, [German] sehen, [French] voir, [French] considerer, [French] contempler; to behold, to consider carefully, to look again, to examine; Acts 17:23, Heb.13:7

Consider this: What is this Mass to you? As a sacrifice or as a meal? The Traditional Mass presents itself as a SACRIFICE. The Novus Order Mass presents itself as a MEAL. Archbishop Lefebvre already had foreseen these contentious differences in the Church.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to examine carefully.

Diodorus Siculus’ Library 12.15: “When the law for the protection of orphans was scrutinized more closely and examined with care, it indicates not only earnest study but also a high claim to regard.”

Plato’s Apology 28b: “You do not speak well, Sir, if you think it is necessary for a man to consider danger of life or death. Rather, he should only consider whether he is doing things that are just or unjust.”

Epimenides was a 6th century seer, philosopher, and poet from Crete.

New Testament: This term means to look carefully, observe, and to reflect upon.

Scripture:

Acts 17:23: “For as I walked around looking carefully at your shrines, I even discovered and altar inscribed, ‘To an Unknown God.’ What therefore you unknowingly worship, I proclaim to you.” (Paul was appealing to Athenians’ pagan religiosity. Paul points out that this unknown God does not dwell in sanctuaries and does not need to be served by human hands.)

Heb.13:7: “Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” (The Jewish Christians are called to reflect on and imitate the heroic virtue of their spiritual leaders and teachers who were faithful even until death. The Jewish Christians must strive to follow their example. Even though these leaders have died, there is no cause for one to lose one’s faith.)

Reconsidering Vatican II:

  1. The Modernists at Vatican II naively believed that “we needed to bring fresh air into the Church” in order to “get with the times”.
  2. As a result, liturgical confusion (chaos), declining vocations, clerical sexual abuse scandals, poor catechesis, liturgical sacrileges, and declining Mass attendance (church closings), etc. occurred.
  3. As a result, there has been a continual and steady decline in Catholic faith and belief in the Real Presence (Eucharist).
  4. The progressive introduction of the practice of receiving the Eucharist in the hands has also led to a decreased belief in the Real Presence.
  5. Pope Paul VI stated that “the smoke of Satan” (liturgical confusion) has entered into the Church.
  6. Modernists, blinded by their ideology, claim that the Novus Order Mass “revitalizes” when the reality suggests otherwise.
  7. The Novus Order Mass has turned liturgical worship into a meal, rather than a sacrifice.

Reconsidering the Modernists’ and Synodalists’ agenda:

  1. They have been seeking to shut down the thriving Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). (This seeks to repress the vital part of the Church.)
  2. They believe that the TLM is not compatible with Church ecclesiology after Vatican II. Therefore, the TLM must end. (This is essentially promoting their Modernist ideology at the expense of the parishioners.)
  3. Increasing interest in the TLM has become a threat (obstacle) to the their agenda. (They are essentially admitting that they cannot stop this Holy Spirit-inspired movement.)
  4. They believe that without liturgical reform, there is no reform in the Church. (They believe that “reform” and “renewal” mean moving forward.)
  5. They believe more “reform” will improve the situation of the Church. (When this “reform” does not work, they will “reform”  and “renew” again. ==>rinse and repeat.)
  6. They are confounded as to why people are attracted to the TLM. (Modernists believe that this is backward looking, rigid, and being nostalgic for the past.)
  7. The German Church provides an ALARMING WARNING of things to come with Synodality. (The German Church is “reforming” and “renewing itself into heresy and decline.)
  8. Synodality is essentially “DOUBLING-DOWN” on what Vatican II has started. (Synodality is bringing in MORE “FRESH AIR” AND MORE “SMOKE” into the Church.)
  9. Many bishops are now seeking to further implement Traditionis Custodes. (This is further creating disappointment and opposition from the laity.)
  10. The rationale for Traditionis Custodes has been recently been discovered to be based on a FALSE narrative. (This has further increased the laity’s interest and desire in the TLM.)
  11. Synodality seeks to share decision-making authority between the clergy and the MOST POORLY CATECHIZED LAITY IN GENERATIONS. (What could possibly ever go wrong with that??)

Reconsidering how to increase Catholics’ belief in the Real Presence:

  1. Focus more on Eucharistic processions at the local Church level. (Holding a massive stadium event is fine, but what about the local parish?)
  2. Construct more accessible Eucharistic adoration chapels. (Allow people to spend time with the Lord before Mass.)
  3. If possible, construct 24 hour Eucharistic adoration chapels. (Vocations reliably follow where parishes prioritize Eucharistic adoration.)
  4. Restore and make available the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) for parishioners. (This will bring in more Catholics [and more money) in the parish.)
  5. Display the Eucharist Tabernacle front and center near the altar. (This will help further make clear the importance of Eucharist.)
  6. Bring back kneeling rails for those who seek to humbly receive the Eucharist. (Receiving the Eucharist in the hands increases the incidence of Eucharistic sacrilege.)
  7. Minimize the need and use for “Extra-ordinary Eucharistic ministers.” (The FREQUENT use of these ministers actually makes them ordinary.)
  8. Only ordained clergy and ministers should remain in the sanctuary. (This will help to better convey the separateness of the sanctuary as a sacred space. The TLM already does this.)
  9. Only ordained clergy and ministers should administer the Eucharist to the congregation. (This will reduce liturgical sacrileges and increase the laity’s belief in the Real Presence.)

Reconsidering the generational and THEOLOGICAL differences in the priesthood: older generations vs. younger generations

Older priests:

  1. They were shaped by the 1960’s with all its upheavals, the sexual revolution, and Vatican II. This was an era of permissive cultural attitudes and norms.
  2. They see that the Vatican II era was a progressive watershed moment in history: freedom of rules, dead customs, rituals, traditions, and beliefs. TRADITION IS BACKWARD LOOKING..
  3. They believed in a gospel about Jesus freeing us from the rules. These priests are more open to ambiguous teachings and statements [to speak to the times].
  4. They see the younger priests’ attraction for Tradition as being different or rebellious.
  5. The are more tolerant toward homosexuality, more open to change Church teachings to accept this lifestyle. There is perhaps a substantial number of priests who actively engage in this lifestyle.

Younger priests:

  1. They are drawn to the older rite and to traditional spirituality.
  2. In general, priests ordained since 2000 have much more traditional attitudes toward sexuality and other moral questions.
  3. They are more skeptical of the idea of women holy orders (priesthood and deaconate).
  4. Their values and beliefs have been shaped by a counter-response to the progressiveness of Vatican II. They seek moral clarity.
  5. They perceive a declining Church that had lost its way as a result of social and cultural disturbances, scandals, and corruption.
  6. They base their priestly identity in the call to be heroic in their priesthood. This notion was preached by Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.
  7. They latched onto tradition as part of the Church’s heritage and renewal. TRADITION IS TRUE REFORM AND TRUE RENEWAL.
  8. Pope Francis has accused younger priests for being “rigid”, hypocritical, and scandalous.
  9. The younger priests and seminarians are now more traditionally and more conservative minded than past generations.

Etymology:

  1. The prefix ana- means again and also signifies intensity.
  2. The Greek base verb theoreo means to view or to behold.
  3. The Latin verb videre also means to consider, having a much deeper sense than just seeing.
  4. The French verb considerer, derived from the Latin verb considerare, literally means to observe the stars (sidera).
  5. The French verb contempler, derived from the Latin verb contemplare, literally means to mark out a space (temple) for observation.

Conclusion;

Video, see, voyeur, intuition, consider, consideration, contemplate, contemplation

This term pertains to considering or reflecting upon important or serious matters. Plato’s quote states: how one should live one’s life (unjust or just).

Update: Archbishop Lefebvre was quite prophetic in seeing the consequences of Vatican II: “getting with the times”. He foresaw that Vatican II had veered off from Tradition and the traditions of Jesus’ Church.

In light of the false premise in enacting Traditions Custodes, the Vatican (and Pope Leo) will have to reconsider restoring the peoples’ right to celebrate the TLM. But will Pope Leo do?

As Catholics, we all must reconsider the consequences of Vatican II. As a result of “bringing in fresh air into the Church,” Vatican II has caused devastating spiritual and pastoral consequences for the Church. We need to look for inspiration from Tradition and traditional Church teachings.

How does the Vatican respond to the problems in the Church? By becoming a more worldly Church made in the image of man and his lived experiences. Yet, people are still walking away from the Church. We must reconsider Tradition which is true reform and renewal.

How does the German Church respond to the problems in the Church? By becoming MORE WORLDLY. The bishops are seeking to normalize homosexuality, remove celibacy, and advocate for women clergy. Yet, more and more people are still walking away. We must reconsider the dangerous consequences of Synodality.

We all must reconsider that the Vatican’s willingness to discuss women clergy results from political pressure of women’s rights groups.

We all must reconsider that Modernists and Synodalists seek to define religion, faith, and doctrine inside themselves (through subjective religious sentiment) to continually reform and renew the Church. This seeks to undermine Jesus’ Church.

We all must reconsider that the Church’s efforts to “get with the world” has been a GREAT FAILURE. It is through Tradition that the Church is being renewed.

“Our future is the past.” Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre  (He already foresaw that only Tradition will bring true reform and renewal in the Church. AND YET, TRADITION (NOT SYNODALITY) IS NOW ACTUALLY RENEWING THE CHURCH!)

Quotes from St. Josephine Bakhita:

“In God’s will there is great peace.”

“The best thing for us is not what we consider best, but the what the Lord wants of us.”
