[Greek] ἐκκλείω (ekkleiō), [Latin] excludere, [German] fernhalten: to shut out, to exclude, to eliminate, to not allow; Rom.3:27, Gal.4:17

Pope Francis really believes that tradition is the problem holding us back!!

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to shut out, to exclude from, to hinder, and to prevent.

Euripides’ Orestes 1127: “We will shut them up in different parts of the house.”

Demosthenes On the False Embassy 19.26: “You were precluded from learning the truth promptly and being cheated by hopes, impostures, and vain reassurances.”

Aeschines’ On the Embassy 2.85: “Demosthenes, who just burst into tears at mention of Cersbleptes, tried to shut him out of the alliance.”

Herodotus’ The Histories 1.44: “They forbid admitting any of the neighboring Dorians to the temple, and even barred them from using it for those of their own group who had broken the temple law.”

Old Testament: This term means to stretch out, to bend away, to turn aside, to depart, to humble, to submit, and to trample.

New Testament: This term means to exclude and to not allow. In regard to faith, there is no occasion for boasting. People cannot boast of their faith, since it is God’s free gift. Paul states that evildoers want to isolate you from your blessings, so that you may show interest in them.

Scripture:

“What occasion is there for boasting? It is ruled out. On what principle, that of works? No, rather on the principle of faith.” Rom.3:27

People cannot boast of their holiness, since it is God’s free gift.

“They show interest in you, but not in a good way; they want to isolate you, so that you may show interest in them.” Gal.4:17

Paul warns the Galatians of their opponents who want to isolate you from your blessings. These opponents will attempt to entice and to curry favor with you. They seek to undermine your faith and to draw you in to their group.

Pope Francis’ restriction of the TLM: As a Modernist, this pope believes having both the TLM and New Mass is “divisive. Pope Francis wants to remove the TLM, believing that this is intended purpose of Vatican II. These actions are dividing, marginalizing, and confusing Catholics.

“What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful.” Pope Benedict XVI

“We do not want a church that will move with the world. We want a church that will move the world.” GK Chesterton

Etymology: The related Greek noun ekklesia refers to a particular body of faithful people. Essentially, these people are called out.

Conclusion:

Exclude, exclusion, ecclesia, ecclesiastic, halt

It is quite interesting that Demosthenes’ makes reference to censorship and content moderation. Aeschines references a “snowflake” who cries at the mention of a person’s name. ☺

Update: The Vatican (Pope Francis) continues to restrict the celebrating of the TLM.

The secular culture continues to seduce or entice Catholic Cardinals and bishops (and others) to change Church teachings.

Pope Francis prefers to disregard Church Tradition.

Pope Frances continues to make confusing statements

We now live in a cancel culture where people and institutions are rejected, cancelled, criticized, and attacked.

Catholics and Christians are now called hateful or extreme.

Our current cancel culture has now created crying “snowflakes” and “Karens” who are offended by everything.

For corporations (and companies) there continues the issue of whether or not to exclude stockholder interests or ESG values.

“What is it that I expect as a consequence of World Youth Day? I want a mess. We knew that in Rio there would be great disorder, but I want trouble in the dioceses!” Pope Francis

This quote perfectly defines Pope Francis’ papacy!
