[Greek] κατηγορία (katēgoria), [Latin] accusare, [Latin] accusatio, [French] incriminer: accusation, criminal charge, complaint; Lk.67, Jn.8.29, 1Tim.5:9, Tit.1:6

Pope Pius XII foresaw that critics (clergy and laity) who would call conservative (traditional) Catholics “rigid” in their faith. Yet, this really speaks more about the Modernists’ and Synodalists’ disdain for Tradition and traditional teachings. This “new morality” has become Synodality.

Background information:

Etymology:

  1. Agora: the central public gathering place or assembly for commercial, social, religious, political, and judicial activities.
  2. Agoreuo: this Greek verb means to accuse (-agoreuo) against (kata-) someone in the assembly
  3. Kategoria: this Greek noun means accusation. In a sense, the one accused is often categorized (labeled) by that accusation. (crime ==> criminal)
  4. Sykos: this Greek nouns means fig.
  5. Phaneroo: this Greek verb means to reveal

Sycophant:

  1. This term means “fig-revealer”
  2. Folklore suggests that sycophants would shake down trees of opponents to reveal the figs.
  3. Private individuals were often hired to make false prosecutions and accusations (“shake-down artists”).
  4. Fig farmers would often hire informants (fig revealers) to spy on their competitors who engaged in criminal activity.
  5. In current times, a sycophant is a “yes-man/woman” or one who “sucks up” to someone.
  6. In current times, a sycophant is a “pope-splainer” who explains, defends, or often employs “verbal gymnastics” to defend the Pope.

Greek Hellenism: This term means to accuse, to betray, to make known, to speak against (before judges), and to inform.

Plato’s Euthyphro 2c: “What sort of indictment has been brought against you?”

Demosthenes’ On the Crown 18.266: “You have already the reputation of an informer. And the question is whether you still to continue in that trade.”

Plato’s Apology 18a: “Then it is right for me to defend myself against the false accusations brought against me.”

Sophocles’ Ajax 907: “But by whose hand can the ill-fated man have contrived this end? He did it with his own hand; it is obvious.”

Old Testament: The Hebrew noun satan means accuser.

Etymology:

  1. The Greek and Hebrew noun satan means accuser or adversary.
  2. The Greek noun diaballo means to slander, to throw across, and to accuse.
  3. The Greek noun diabolos means one who accuses or cast through.

New Testament: This term means accusation, charges against, and trap (catch).

Lk.6:7: “The scribes and the Pharisees watched Him closely to see if He would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse Him.” (The scribes and Pharisees were essentially looking for evidence to incriminate Jesus of blasphemy (acting like God). Jesus argues that satisfying human needs, such as hunger and works of mercy, take precedence over the sacred sabbath rest.)

Jn.18:29: “So Pilate came out to them and said, ‘What charge do you bring against this man [Jesus]’?”

  1. The Jews hoped that Pilate would order the execution of Jesus.
  2. Pilate felt that Jesus could be not be charged for such a serious nature.
  3. Yet, the Romans, not the Jews, were legally able to exact the punishment of crucifixion.
  4. Crucifixion was a Roman punishment exacted for slaves and criminals.
  5. Pilate, yielding to public pressure, authorized the crucifixion of Jesus.

1Tim.5:19: “Do not accept an accusation against a presbyter unless it is supported by two or three witnesses.”

  1. The presbyters possess the responsibility of preaching and teaching, for which they are to be supported by the community.
  2. Their position subjects them to adverse criticism (whether warranted or not).
  3. Multiple (two or three) witnesses were needed to ascertain the validity of any such accusations against presbyters.
  4. This provides the basis for “where two or three are gathered…”)

[Greek] κατηγορέω (katēgoreō): to accuse

Jn.5:45: “Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father: the one who will accuse you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope.” (Jesus will not accuse you like those who accused Him. Moses, clearly foretelling about the Messiah, will accuse you. Moses can accuse you because the Israelites were disobedient and rebellious toward him.)

Acts 25:16: “I [Paul]: answered them that it was not Roman practice to hand over an Roman citizen before he has faced his accusers and had the opportunity to defend himself against their charges.” (Paul, as a Roman citizen, was entitled the right to face his accuser and the right [honor] to be beheaded rather than be crucified.)

“The New Morality”(Synodality)  ===> The New Synodal Church

  1. Jesus’ Church is being remade into a worldly Church made in the image of man and his lived experiences.
  2. Lived experiences (Synodality) quite often take precedence over Church teachings, sin, morality, Jesus’ words on sin, and doctrine.
  3. A “listening Church”: this sounds so wonderful and fine. This is a Church asking for what the people want in the Church, NOT WHAT JESUS WANTS for the people. Jesus’ concerns becomes sidelined.
  4. Clergy and laity seek to share decision making authority in defining doctrine and Church structure. What could ever go possibly wrong with that.
  5. Inclusion, tolerance, and accompaniment take precedence for Church teachings against homosexuality.
  6. Many clergy engage in the homosexual lifestyle. There are many pro-LGBTQ clergy who ignore or pay lip service to Church teachings.
  7. Synodality continues to make the Church more and more different from Jesus’ Church.
  8. The German Synodal Church is “renewing” and “reforming” itself into decline and heresy. This a great warning sign for Synodality.
  9. The Church’s priorities involve MAKING A BETTER WORLD and SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD, rather than bringing souls into heaven.
  10. The Church (Vatican and the USCCB) are now making a new concerted push to promote immigration and illegal immigration.
  11. Synodality attacks the image of Jesus by ignoring and paying lip service to His commands and teachings on sin.
  12. In Synodality FORGIVENESS, CONVERSION OF HEART, AND SIN ARE RARELY TALKED ABOUT.
  13. Synodality seeks insert to replace clergy power and influence with laity in the Church.

Quotes by Pope Francis:

“One must abandon your ecclesial ideologies.” (Pope Francis sincerely believes that the LGBTQ community is being marginalized by “RIGID” Church teachings.)

“God is love and the one who loves does not remain RIGID. They do not remain rigid in their own positions, but allow themselves to be moved and touched.” (At the Synod of Synodalities, Pope Francis suggested the notion of the “Holy Spirit of Surprises”. BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT CANNOT CONDONE SIN! Pope Francis is seeking a “new morality” that would accommodate ‘irregular relationships’ as an acceptable marriage relationship.)

“Beware of RIGIDITY, it is a perversion. Behind the rigidity there is no holy spirit.” (Pope Francis evidently is more concerned about mercy than following Jesus’ command to sin no more (Jn.8:11).

Other accusations made by Pope Francis:

  1. He calls it a scandal to see young priests and seminarians wearing cassocks, hats, and alb. (So is it scandalous to see a priest look like a priests?)
  2. He expelled Fr. Missigbeto for documenting ten heresies that Pope Francis committed. This priest said this was an unjust action.
  3. He has accused traditional Catholics for having a “nostalgic disease of backwardness.”

German bishop Ludger Schepers condemns the reparation prayer over Vatican LGBTQ pilgrimage:

  1. This gesture is a “scandalous sign of ecclesiastical narrow-mindedness and an open rejection of all those who love for a Church that truly lives the Gospel.” (This a modern Synodal mindset.)
  2. This prayer was not an “act of faith, but an act of “shameful exclusion.” (This attitude does not see homosexuality as a sin.)
  3. Calling for forgiveness for the “mere presence” of homosexuals reveals fear of diversity. (Diversity means openness to sinful lifestyles.)
  4. This is a “dangerous spiritual narrowness that betrays the Gospel.
  5. The Church must repent “for the harm it has caused to queer people over the decades.” (These are harmful and hateful Church teachings.)

Conclusion:

Accuse, accusation, accuser, incriminate, incrimination, category, categorize

Jesus loved us so much that He would be willing to be called a slave and criminal to be crucified.

I can categorically say that is a very interesting term. ☺☺☺It was interesting to discover the nuanced meanings which are still applicable today. To this day we still have informants and sycophants (“yes-men”, “yes-women, “pope-splainers”).

And now you know why informants are sometimes called “shake-down artists” or extortionists.

Current times: the devil is an accuser, adversary, and slanderer who seeks to undermine God, the Church, God’s moral laws, and man.

Update: The Vatican “pope-splainers” (papal sycophants) continually seek to defend Pope Leo. These “pope-splainers” have often become well versed in verbal gymnastics.

If you oppose Fiducia Supplicans, you may be deemed as a hater, mean-spirited, or intolerant to those who are “marginalized by rigid Catholic teachings”.

The Vatican continue to hide Fr. Rupnik, accused of sexually abusing nuns and producing grotesque artwork. This is the real scandal.

Bishop Strickland was later accused of not being a “team-player” for not towing the Modernist line. As a result, he was removed from his office. He can become considered as a “white martyr.” Unfortunately, Bishop Strickland’s pleas to his fellow bishops about scandals are continually answered with silence.

The Transalpine Redemptorists repudiates the the Synodal Church as distinct from the Catholic Church. The faith of all times and of the saints is incompatible from the Catholic Church. ***

Do not allow yourselves to be deceived by the cunning statements of those who persistently claim to be with the Church and to love the Church. But judge them by their works.” Pope Pius X

“The privilege of our Church is such that it is never stronger when it is attacked, never better known than when it is accused, never more powerful than when it appears forsaken.” St. Hilary of Poiters
