[Greek] πλανάω (planaō), [Latin] errare, [Latin] seducer, [Latin] inducer, [French] introduire, [Latin] fraudare, [German] betrugen: to go astray, to wander, to be unfaithful, to err, to seduce, to deviate; 52 scriptural references

Yet, in Pope Francis’ synodal Church ‘mercy above all else over sinning no more’ (Jn.8:11) has become a new human innovation straying from Catholic teachings. Many are now  being led to believe that their actions are acceptable.

Greek Hellenism: This term means to wander, to go astray, to lead astray, to be mistaken, to vacillate, to lie, to seduce, to doubt, to be at a loss.

Aeschylus’ Prometheus Bound 473: “You have lost your wits and have gone astray.”

Herodotus’ The Histories 2.115: “Alexandrus was evasive in his story and did not tell the truth.”

Plato’s Statesman 263a: “We have already strayed away from our subject more than we ought, and you wish us to wander still further afield.”

Plato’s Protagoras 256d: “Is it not the power of appearance that leads us astray. Many a time causes us to have to change our minds in both our conduct and in our choice.”

Old Testament: This term means to lead astray, to confuse, to wander, and to vacillate spiritually. This term generally refers more to faith, belief, and philosophy rather than profane deceiving.

New Testament: This term means to go astray, to spiritually vacillate, to be misled, to deviate (from the correct path), to err, to be deceived, and to be mistaken. In contrast, the Greek verb apatao emphasizes the means to deceive (bring into error). Yes, the Parable of the Good Shepherd is important, but I do not want to stray from those who are currently being led astray. ☺☺☺

Scripture:

Mt.22:29: Jesus said to the Sadducees, ‘You are misled because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God.’” (The Sadducees were attempting to trick Jesus about marriage relationships. Instead, Jesus points out that sexual relationships of this world will be transcended (will no longer exist in heaven).

Jn.7:12: Some said Jesus is a good man. Others said He misleads the crowd. (Some Jews were seeing a different Jesus who was misleading [drawing others away] from the law of Moses, breaking the Sabbath, and proclaiming to be Messiah.)

1Cor.6:9: Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor sodomites will inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Do not be deceived: There was a great danger of minimizing such pagan sins. Paul cautions against the teachings (opinions) of the false teachers. The soul is of infinite value for not be given entrance into heaven.

Idolaters/adulterers: The idolaters are likened to adulterers. Abandoning the the Lord for a foreign god was called prostitution or adultery. A spiritual harlot prostitutes oneself with worldly values, idolatry, paganism, and sin.

1Cor.15:32-33: If at Ephesus I fought with beasts…Do not be lead astray; bad company corrupts good morals

Beasts: adversaries, evil spirits, idolaters, sorcerers, demon-possessed

Gal.6:7: Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap what he sows. (Paul warns us not to be led astray by false teachers (false teaching). God already knows our character and actions. God will then judge us accordingly.)

Tit.3:3: We ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deluded, slaves to various desires and pleasures. (We can find ourselves walking through ignorance, illusion, falsity (lack of true light). We can be often be oblivious to the deceitfulness of sin.)

Heb.5:2: Jesus is able to deal patiently (having compassion) with the ignorant and the erring, for He Himself is beset by weakness.

Erring:

1. Who are sinners and in need of pardon (forgiveness)
2. Who are unwillingly deluded by the fraud of Satan
3. Who are misled by violence or temptation
4. Who are like sheep going astray
5. Who knowingly or unknowingly offend God by one’s words or actions

Beset by weakness:

1. Qualified to minister on behalf of guilty and dying people
2. Capable of suffering and death
3. Able to sacrifice and intercede for us
4. Understanding what it means to be vulnerable
5. Able to sympathize with us

2Pet.2:15: Abandoning the straight road, they have gone astray, following the road of Balaam, who loved payment for wrongdoing

Balaam and Balak (Num.22:21-35):

1. Balaam was known to be a prophet.
2. The Moab king Balak asked Balaam to issue a curse (idolatry and sexual immorality) on the Israelites.
3. God instructed Balaam NOT to go to Balak. But King Balak further convinced Balaam with silver and gold.
4. Balaam wanted to do what God told him NOT to do. God said, “You want to go? So then go.” (Consequences will always follow sin! We all can relate!)
5. Peter points out that Balaam acted out of greed. The donkey rebuked Balaam with a human voice.
6. Balaam later instructed Balak to put a stumbling block before the Israelites: to eat food sacrificed to idols and to play the harlot (Rev. 2:14-15). (This is the sin that follows.)

1Jn.1:8: If we say, ‘we are without sin’, we deceive ourselves. (Denial of the condition of sin is self-deception and contrary to God. This allows for recurrence of sin.)

Quotes:

“Pope Francis reasoned that Jesus spent time with people who lived on the margins of society and that is what the Church should be doing today with members of the LGBTQ community.” (Yes. Jesus associates [walks with] marginalized people, but He does NOT accept or condone their sinful behavior. He called them to sin no more! [Jn.8:11]. Yet, this is NOT being told!)

Pope Francis: “It is right that these people who live the gift of love can have legal courage like everyone else.” (Do not be led astray when Pope Francis’ conflates the gift of love (from God) and disordered love. It seems that Pope Francis and his inner circle are seeking to de-stigmatize, rationalize, and normalize same sex unions as an acceptable marriage relationship.)

Cardinal Hollerich (part of Pope Francis inner circle): “I find it very beautiful because it [Fiducia Supplicans] means God loves everyone including those in irregular situations. It’s truly a pastoral document. It isn’t a doctrinal document.” (The cardinal intentionally conflates God’s love for us and our actions. God loves the sinner but hates the sin! Do not be led astray when same-sex unions are called ‘irregular situations’ (huge red flag!). Yet, there is NO mention in Fiducia Supplicans for the need of forgiveness and conversion of heart from the sin of homosexuality.)

Etymology: The Greek noun planetes (planet) means wanderer. The Latin verb errare means to wander, to go astray, and to deceive. The Latin verb seducere means to lead away. The Latin noun seductio refers to the act of seducing someone to error. The Latin verb inducere means to lead and to bring into. The German verb betrugen means to betray. The Greek very mukterizo means to turn up the nose (mukter) in scorn, to mock, to deride, and to insult

1Cor.15:32-33: Philosopher Heroclitus: the morals of the Temple of Artemis (Diana) crowd were worse than the morals of beasts. (Evidently, this was a permissive culture of idolatry, vice, and sexual immorality.)

Update: Fr. James Martin, part of Pope Francis’ inner circle, is already excitedly blessing same-sex unions (blessing evil). Fr. James Martin seems to be Pope Francis’ point man for their ‘outreach to the LGBTQ community. It seems that Pope Francis is already OK with this! Otherwise, Fr. Martin would not be doing this.

Pope Francis’ “pope-splainers” have accused Cardinal Burke for being a schismatic for doing a 9 month “protest” novena! Do not be led astray by their intentions. It is obviously not about the novena, but rather Cardinal Burke making Pope Francis and his inner circle look bad. It seems as if we are already living in a “upside-down bizarro world” when doing a novena is schismatic!

Pope Francis and Cardinal Fernandez are seeking to argue, convince, or confuse others in believing that same-sex unions can potentially become another type of marriage relationship. Instead of CONDEMNING THE SIN of the German bishops blessing same-sex unions, Pope Francis CONDEMNS THEIR PROCESS. In response, Pope Francis and his inner circle have created a non-liturgical blessing since same-sex unions cannot be supported by scripture. Pope Francis seems to be “slow-walking” this process to eventually get to where the German bishops are. Pope Francis’ modus operandi applies to his other changes.

Pope Francis’ new synodal Church is presenting a different Jesus who walks and accepts one’s lived experiences. This is a Jesus who bestows mercy above all else. 

In a typical Modernist fashion, Pope Francis and his inner circle reject and avoid the hard truths for fornicators, idolaters, and adulterers entering into heaven. Rather, Modernists see people marginalized by rigid teachings. Therefore, these rigid teachings must be reformed and changed.

Just as with Paul’s time, our post-Christian secular society is beset with sexual immorality, vice, and idolatry. Our society is faced with demonic influences in uprooting and undermining the culture and the Church. The devil has already sown division within the Church.

Make no mistake God is already aware of the division, heresy, schism, and confusion in the Church. God will inevitably make his response known in reaction to these problems.

Two Mockeries in the diocese of San Antonio:

1. This is the same diocese! Is this just a coincidence? Or could this be God’s divine Providence?
2. The archbishop is seeking to put Santos Ranch out of business. As a result, the ranch is suing the archbishop for libel.
3. The Mission of Divine Mercy is releasing alleged divine messages (warnings and chastisements).
4. The archbishop responded in saying that these prophecies were false.
5. The archbishop removed the Fr. Foster’s faculties at the Mission of Divine Mercy.
6. The Mission of Divine Mercy responded back to the archbishop. Their website stated, “We must obey God.”
7. The archbishop states that “Fr. Foster’s admits his disobedience to the Pope”??

Many of us go astray, already aware of our sin and sinful actions. Yet, there are many who may not know that they are going astray (engaging in sinful activity). They either may not know and/or have not been properly catechized.

Balaam compromised and prostituted his divine position for personal greed. Pope Francis and his inner circle are also compromising and prostituting their divine office in their efforts to bring the LGBTQ community’s “lived experiences” into the Church. Many souls could be put in eternal mortal peril. 

Let’s just take a step back here: The archbishop believes that Fr. Foster is causing damage here! CRITICIZING POPE FRANCIS FOR CREATING CONFUSION AND CHAOS IN THE CHURCH IS SCHISMATIC, DISOBEDIENT, AND DANGEROUS?? This sounds like hyper-papalism: you are being schismatic and divisive for criticizing the pope.
