[Greek] καταφρονέω (kataphroneō), [Latin] contemnere, [Latin] contemptus, [French] dedaigner, [French] mepriser: to show contempt for, to think little of, to despise, to look down upon; Mt.6:24, Mt.18:10, Lk.16:13, Rom.2:4, 1Cor.11:22, 1Tim.4:12, 1Tim.6:2, Heb.12:2, 2Pet.2:10

St. Augustine criticizes the errors of including (what you like) and excluding (what you don’t like) in the Gospel. This can apply to “cafeteria Catholicism” and Synodality (lived experiences) taking precedence over Church teachings. This is where Synodality becomes IDOLATRY.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to look down upon, to think slightly of, to despise, to think contemptuously, and to presume.

Isocrates’ Archidamus 6.108: “Let us therefore challenge one another to pay back to our fatherland the price of our nurture, and not suffer to be outraged or contemned.”

Euripides’ Bacchae 199: “Having been mortal, I do not scorn the gods.”

Plato’s Euthydemus 273d: “I saw they despised me for it, and they both laughed.”

Lysias’ Against Eratosthenes 12.78: “Twice over did he enslave you, despising what was present, and longing for what was absent, setting himself as instructor in most monstrous acts.”

Unknown: “Holding onto resentment is letting a person, whom you despise, occupy a portion in your mind forever.”

Mammon:

  1. Mammon is considered the Syrian god of riches, wealth, and the greedy pursuit of gain.
  2. This word may have been present throughout the Canaanite languages.
  3. Devotees would kneel down on their knees at this statue.
  4. Mammon is an Aramaic word meaning wealth or property.
  5. Abundantia is the Roman god of riches. Plutus is the Greek god of riches.

Old Testament: This term means to act treacherously, to offend, to despise, to take advantage, to hold in contempt, to be vile, and to ridicule.

  1. Hos.6:7: Adam violates the covenant and betrays God.
  2. Hab.1:13: the wicked devour those more just than themselves
  3. Gen.27:12: [Jacob] I will bring on myself a curse instead of a blessing
  4. Prov.19:16: those despise these ways [commands] will die
  5. Prov.18:3: with wickedness comes contempt, disgrace, and scorn
  6. Wis.14:30: they thought perversely of God by devoting themselves to idols

New Testament: This term means to despise, to hate, to hold in low esteem, to show contempt, and to disdain.

Mt.6:24: “No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Jesus states that it is not possible to be devoted to both masters (God and wealth). One may even become a slave (enslaved) to this master. This can also be applicable to sin. Spiritual treasures are much longer lasting than material treasures.)

Mt.18:10: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always looks upon the face of My heavenly Father.” (Disciples must seek out fellow disciples who have gone astray. Not only must no one cause a fellow disciple to sin, but also they must also be brought back to the community. This also further points out the responsibility of the shepherd (cardinal, bishop, and priest). But one must also first recognize what sin is.)

Rom.2:4: “Or do you hold His priceless kindness, forbearance, and patience in low esteem, unaware that the kindness of God would lead you to repentance?” (The Jews no longer enjoy real moral supremacy over the Gentiles. The Gentiles stand on equal footing with Jews before God. The final judgment will be a review of performance.)

1Cor.11:22: “Or do you show contempt for the church of God and make those who have nothing feel ashamed.”

Abuse and neglect regarding the Lord’s Supper: 1Cor.11:17-22

  1. [Paul]: Your meetings are doing more harm than good
  2. When you meet, there are divisions among you
  3. There have to be divisions among you so that you may know those who are faithful
  4. There is careless and irregular eating at the Lord’s table
  5. The Church of God is not a place for revelry, feasting, and ordinary meals
  6. Do you despise this place that you conduct yourselves shamefully?

Heb.12:2: “For the sake of the joy that lay before Him, He endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken His seat at the right of the throne of God.” (Jesus humbly accepted the shameful act of crucifixion to redeem humanity.)

2Pet.2:10: “And especially those who follow the flesh with its depraved desire and show contempt for lordship.”

False teachers (and false prophets) denounced (2Pet.2:1-12):

  1. They will introduce destructive heresies
  2. They will even deny the Master who ransom them, bringing swift destruction on themselves
  3. Many will follow their licentious ways. And because of them, the way of truth will be reviled.
  4. They will exploit you with fabrications. Their destruction does not sleep.
  5. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to revile glorious beings.
  6. They revile things that they do not understand.
  7. In their destruction, they will also be destroyed.
  8. They seduce unstable people.
  9. Abandoning the straight road, they have gone astray, following the road of Balaam.

Jubilee Mass for LGBTQ Catholic at the Vatican:

Fr. James Martin: “The Church’s teachings have removed the ‘dignity’ of the LGBTQ community.”

“The Jubilee was the remission of debts and the liberation of slaves a prisoners. The Jubilee was the remission was the time to free the oppressed and restore dignity to those who had been denied it.” Fr. James Martin   (One wonders how could this priest still be in good standing with the Church. It is because Pope Francis had continually supported his efforts.)

What can be concluded from this? The Modernists and Synodalists believe that…

  1. The Church’s teachings against homosexuality are a hateful injustice to the LGBTQ community. (The Church is wrong and must change its teachings.)
  2. The Church’s teachings against homosexuality has removed the ‘dignity’ of the LGBTQ community. (Their ‘dignity’ essentially means allowing them to continue to live their sinful lifestyle.)
  3. Any mention of sin and sinful behavior must be excluded. (The Church must make efforts to de-stigmatize, normalize, and ignore (pay lip service ) to Church teachings against homosexuality.)
  4. The Church must ignore the fact that while Jesus associated with sinners, He did NOT TOLERATE and ACCEPT their sinful lifestyles. (Therefore, the LGBTQ community must get a pass.)
  5. It wouldn’t be “synodal” to clearly state Church teachings against homosexuality because this is not being tolerant and inclusive.
  6. One person in the LGBTQ community wore a shirt containing, “F*ck the Rules”. This is apt metaphor for the Church’s LGBTQ “outreach.” (This becomes a convergence of two opposing moral viewpoints.)

What were the underlying conditions that has allowed this to happen?

  1. Vatican II: It was naively thought that we must “bring in some fresh air” so that the Church “can get with the times.”
  2. Along with this “fresh air”[worldliness], came “the smoke of Satan” which allowed tolerance, inclusion, false compassion, and doctrinal confusion (ambiguity) into the Church.
  3. Synodality: The Church must be remade in the image of man and reflective of his lived experiences. Synodality is just a continuation of Vatican II’s efforts.
  4. Therefore, homosexuality and same sex marriage must be allowed in the Church. (This part of Vatican II’s and Synodality’s efforts to MAKE A BETTER WORLD and to SEEK FAVOR WITH THE WORLD.)
  5. The LGBTQ community (and their lifestyle) are being celebrated by the Vatican. LET THAT SINK IN.

Cardinal Cupich’s animosity toward Tradition and traditional Catholics:

Cardinal Cupich makes references to the quote, “Tradition is living faith of the dead, traditionalism is dead faith of the living.” (Cardinal Cupich claims that those Catholics seeking the Traditional Latin Mass [and traditional Catholic teachings] HAVE NO FAITH. This cardinal also claims that the NOM “nourishes” and the TLM “impoverishes”.

Quotes from Fr. Winfried Abel, a faithful priest silenced for preaching against the sin and moral decline in the German Church:

  1. “What distinguishes the Church of Fulda from secular society?” (The German bishops’ views of morality are BECOMING INDISTINGUISHABLE from the world’s view of morality.)
  2. “The first “pride parade” was the expulsion of mankind from Paradise.” (This a very provocative and truthful statement!)
  3. “Jesus attributed sin to the abuse of freedom and disobedience to God’s commandments.” (This is defining sin at its most basic level.)
  4. “So you want to cast out the devil with Beelzebub?” (The German bishops claim to be horrified and deeply affected by the Church sexual abuse scandal. Yet, these same bishops have no problems with homosexuality, same-sex unions, and blessings of same-sex unions.)
  5. “My Catholic Church in this country has fallen so low that even our bishops no longer differentiate between sexual, erotic, friendly, and divine love —but approve and bless indiscriminately everything that fall under the concept of love.” (The German bishops seem to no longer make the distinction between a traditional marriage and same-sex marriage.)
  6. “The majority of our bishops no longer know the difference between blessing and cursing.” (The German bishops cannot or will not accept that blessing a sinful relationship [same-sex union] is a curse and an evil act.)
  7. “A Church that bows to the spirit of the times ends up being taken seriously by no one.”
  8. “If an alcoholic asks for a blessing, he wants to be freed from his addiction, but not for his alcoholism to be blessed.” (But the German bishops and the same sex couple see homosexuality as a lifestyle rather than as a sin or addiction.)

Final thoughts:

  1. This problem can be applicable to any other diocese and at the global level of the Church.
  2. There are also many clergy who support these views and also live this homosexual lifestyle.
  3. Many clergy and laity do NOT ACCEPT that homosexuality is a grave moral sin.
  4. Many of the laity are NOT TOLD that this is grave moral sin.
  5. Many souls will be placed in eternal peril.
  6. Focusing on inclusiveness, tolerance, and false compassion TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER stating Church teachings against homosexuality. ===> Synodality

Conclusion:

Contempt, contemptible, condemn, disdain, reprise, reprisal

Isocrates points out that it is good to have respect for one’s country.

Update: Many of us act like “little pagans” bowing down to our electronic devices. Many others pay homage to fame, wealth, celebrity, notoriety, “likes”, and convenience.

Many have unfortunately “bowed down” on the altar of convenience in obtaining an abortion. In our society, this has essentially become an “evil sacrament”.

“Holding onto resentment is letting a person, who you despise, occupy and portion in your mind forever.” This is someone “living rent- free” in someone’s mind. This sounds like Trump Derangement Syndrome

Those clergy who engage in the homosexual lifestyle cannot claim moral superiority over others. These clergy will also be judged harshly for failing to state Church teachings against homosexuality.

Many faithful, traditional, and conservative Catholics are continually being marginalized and ignored by the Modernists (Synodalists) who claim that Tradition is “rigid”.

German Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck stated that Apostolic Tradition must be abandoned. This is par for the course for the German Church which is “reforming” and “renewing” itself into decline and heresy.

Loving the world (MAKING A BETTER WORLD AND SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD): Cardinal Turkson, fixating on climate change, rebukes others for denying “climate change”. This synodal mindset minimizes the Church’s original purpose in bringing souls into heaven.

Faithful Catholics in Valence France are forbidden to celebrate the TLM. Now they are now forbidden to pray the Rosary without the local priest’s permission.

“Jesus points out our mission, which is to despise what the world loves and seeks.” St. Padre Pio

“Those with pride are not Christ’s sheep, but the devil’s goats.” St. Vincent Ferrer

“Hate what the world seeks, and seek what it avoids.” St. Ignatius Loyola

“Many religious go straight to hell because they don’t keep their vows.” St. Vincent Ferrer

“You are priests, not social or political leaders. Let us not be under the illusion that we are serving the gospel through an exaggerated interests in the wide field of temporal problems.” Pope John Paul II

“Christianity is greatest when it is hated in the world.” St. Ignatius of Antioch
