[Greek]καταργέω (katargeō), [Latin] occupare, [Latin] non credere, [Latin] destrurere, [Latin] abolere, [Latin] solver, [Latin] evacuare, [German] uberfallen, [French] demolir, [French] detacher, [French] acquitter: to make inactive, to detract, to abolish, to make ineffective, to cease; 31 scriptures

The Church, more concerned with “making a better world”, has become indifferent to simply spreading the gospel and bringing souls to heaven.
Background information:
Greek Hellenism: This term means to render inactive, to put out of use, to hinder, to make useless, and to abolish.
Euripides’ Phoenissae 753: “To tell each one’s name is a great waste of time, when the enemy is camped beneath our very walls.”
Old Testament: This term means to destroy, to stop, and to cease.
New Testament: This term means to render useless, to nullify, to void, to do away with, to release from, to reduce to nothing, to pass away, to destroy, and to fade.
Scripture:
Lk.13:7: “The owner said to the gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this tree abut have found none. So cut it down. Why should it exhaust the soil.'” (Parable of the fig tree: God represents the owner who comes in search of fruit. Jesus represents the gardener. This parable presents a story about the continuing patience of God with those who have not yet given much evidence of their repentance. The Jews, like unfruitful trees, were drawing away nourishment and resources from the land.)
Rom.3:3: “What if some were unfaithful? Will their [Jews] infidelity nullify the fidelity of God?” (Paul responds to the objection that his teaching on sin will detract from Israel’s religious prerogatives. If the Jews are equally exposed to condemnation with the Gentiles, then what advantage do the Jews have? The Mosaic law becomes lacking. God will justify the circumcised on the basis of faith. God will justify the uncircumcised through faith.)
Rom.6:6: “We know that our old self was crucified with Him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin.” (If we grow in union with Christ, we can become dead to sin. Jesus conquers sin and death. One may become a slave [addicted to sin]).
1Cor.1:28: “God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something.” (God will find opportunities to shame and humble the wise and proud. Boasting about oneself pertains to one’s claim to “wisdom” by human standards. Boasting in the Lord pertains to acknowledging we live from and for God.)
1Cor.2:6: “Yet we do speak a wisdom to those who are mature, but not a wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age who are passing away.” (Paul speaks of a higher divine wisdom of God. The Corinthians would be able to grasp this wisdom if they were more open to the Spirit.)
1Cor.6:13: “Food for the stomach and the stomach for the food, but God will do away with both the one and the other. The body, however, is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.” (The Corinthians considered sexual activity as mundane (commonplace) as food. The Corinthians were becoming morally indifferent to sexuality. Not everything legal is beneficial for a person. Legal acts and cultural acceptable acts may not be beneficial.)
Pope Pius X’s prophetic understanding of how Modernists and Synodalists think: [from his encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis]
- Vital immanence: the person seeks to find an explanation for religion and doctrine inside himself (sentiment, perceptions, and lived experiences). Sounds like Synodality!
- This seeks to REDUCE the supernatural and theology to one’s personal experiences.
- Supernatural reality concerning religion is IGNORED or deemed LESS IMPORTANT.
- Lived experiences DIMINISH or REMOVE Tradition. Synodality (lived experiences) becomes elevated as an IDOL!
Vatican II: the naive idea of “bringing fresh air into the Church”:
- It was believed that it was necessary for the Church “to get with the times”.
- This “fresh air” includes water-down Church teachings, ignored Church teachings, secularism, worldliness, relativism, and sinful attitudes.
- Pope Paul VI stated that the “smoke of Satan” has entered inside the Church. This “smoke” refers to liturgical and moral confusion and ambiguity. Satan ultimately seeks to undermine the Church.
- The consequences of Vatican II has become a spiritual and pastoral disaster in the Church.
- Many left the Church and the faith. There have been LOSS of vocations, LOSS of Catholic affiliation, scandals, poor catechesis, LOSS of reverence, and LOSS of faith in the Real Presence.
- The consequences of this council has DIMINISHED, SECULARIZED, and WEAKENED the peoples’ faith.
- The Church was inevitably UNDERMINED by the naive this idea of making the Church more ENTRENCHED in the world. And yet Synodality seeks continue down this path!
Synodality: a “doubling down” of Vatican II’s FAILURES:
- Synodality seeks to transform Jesus’ Church into a more worldly synodal Church made in the image of man.
- Lived experiences (synodality) continue to take precedence over Church teachings. Church teachings and doctrine become often become IGNORED, MINIMIZED, or DILUTED.
- Synodality will further cause people to leave the Church (LESS attendance at Mass), to have further LACK of belief, and to have further POOR catechesis.
- Synodality seems more concerned with listening and meetings and LESS concerned with promoting the gospel message.
- Being indifferent and/or failing to promote the gospel message will DIMINISH the Church’s standing the world.
- Synodality seeks to LESSEN the distinction between clergy and the laity. What could ever possibly go wrong with laity deciding Church doctrine?????
- Ever since Vatican II, the Church looks more like a United Nations NGO and LESS like a divine Church in the mission to bring souls to heaven.
- Ever since Vatican II, the Church seems more focused on worldly issues (social justice, politics, immigration, and LESS focused on important moral issues.
- Ever since, Vatican II, the Church is devoting more financial resources to immigration and social justice rather and LESS focus on the Eucharist, pro-life issues, and catechesis.
Quotes of St. John Vianney:
“If people would do for God what they do for the world, what a great number of Christians would go to heaven.” (Many clergy and laity in the Church have lost sight of the idea that the Church’s PRIMARY MISSION IS TO BRING SOULS INTO HEAVEN.)
“I tell you that you have less to suffer in following the Cross than in serving the world and its pleasures.” (It seems it would be much more difficult in having to explain to God why you had focused more on serving the world [rather than on serving God]. Too much to whom is given [with responsibility], much will be required [in accountability] before God. [Lk.12:48])
“You either belong to the world or wholly to God.” (Which is your priority? Is it God? Or is it the world?)
Etymology: This Greek term katargeo means to idle (-argeo) down (kata-).
Conclusion:
Occupy, occupation, fall, destroy, destruction, demolish, abolish, solvent, detach, acquit, evacuate, evacuation
Man’s wisdom is foolish to God. God’s “foolishness” is wiser than man’s wisdom.
Update: Synodality (a continuation of Vatican II): diluting and changing Catholic teachings, failing to spread the gospel, and more listening and documents.
Recent Catholic rejuvenation: it is interesting to note that there has been a Holy Spirit-inspired laity led counter-response to Synodality. This is NOT coming from the clergy!
Some of the “fruits” of Vatican II and Synodality: closed churches, decreasing Church attendance, lack of belief in the Real Presence, sexual abuse scandals, marginalization of traditional (conservative) Catholics, loss of vocations, poor catechesis, tolerance, inclusion, and human traditions and “wisdom”. This is what happens when you continue to make the Church “get with the times”.
Many of the LGBTQ community and pro-LGBTQ clergy in the Church hope that official Church teachings against homosexuality will not DETRACT and DIMINISH their agenda. This “outreach” therefore must take precedence over Church teachings. Let that sink in!
God will not be mocked. These clergy and those engaging in this lifestyle will be ultimately judged by God for their actions and inactions (DETRACTING) from Church teachings.
Ironically, Catholics and Christians, solely concerned with “making a better world” will use indifference as a justification (rationale) for their efforts to help illegal immigrants. What about the salvation of souls? What about respecting nations’ laws?
The modern-day sense of freedom means: “I can do whatever I want”. This attitude can potentially lead to indulgences, addictions, and sin.
The New Testament sense of freedom means: one can attain true freedom by being “controlled by God”. This means following God’s will.
Synodality continues to bring in more “human traditions”, and human wisdom in the Church. The Church is becoming a more worldly Church made in the image of man and his lived experiences.
In its efforts to “reform” and “renew” the Church, Synodality seems to make Tradition LESS relevant. However only Tradition will bring forth true reform and renewal.
GREAT WARNING SIGNS OF SYNODALITY: the German Church is “renewing” and “reforming” itself into decline and heresy. Large numbers of German Catholics are leaving the Church.
Questionable ecumenism has often resulted in adapting, changing, or watering down Church teachings to accommodate other faiths. This has led to heresies of Indifferentism (the belief that all religions are equally valid. This is where Pope Francis got in trouble with some of his statements.
Vatican II has watered down the notion that the Catholic Church is the only means to attains salvation. Now other faiths can have partial salvation. What does that even mean? This was probably enacted for purposes of inclusion with other faiths (“can we all just get along?”).
“Catholic doctrine tells us that the primary duty of charity does not lie in the toleration of false ideas [DETRACTING from doctrine]…nor in the theoretical or practical indifference towards the errors [DETRACTING from doctrine] and vices our brethren are plunged in.” Pope Pius X
“Pope Francis has been consistently allergic [INDIFFERENT] to evangelization.” Eric Sammons
“It is unfortunately seems clear what is intended…to ‘educate’ new generations in a spirit of religious indifference to tear down traditional Catholic sentiments of the souls of young people.” Pope Pius XI
