[Greek] ἐκλείπω (ekleipō), [Latin] deficere, [French] se detacher, [French] abandonner, [German] abfallen: to eclipse, to fail, to leave out, to cease, to die, to omit, to end; Lk.16:9, Lk.22:32, Lk.23:45, Heb.1:12

Mass attendance: It's down, again - but among whom? - The Dialog

Lack of attendance at Mass has become one of the many unfortunate “fruits” from Vatican II and Synodality.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to leave out, to pass over, to abandon, to fail, to eclipse, to die, to faint, to be lacking, to be left, to depart, end, and to postpone.

Aeschlyus’ Prometheus Bound 827: “The weary tale I shall leave out.”

Aeschylus’ Prometheus Bound 827: “I will describe the toils she has endured before she came here.”

Sophocles’ Philoctetes 911: “Leave me behind and sail away.”

Xenophon’s Anabasis 7.4.2 “The inhabitants abandoning their homes.”

Lysias’ Accusation of Calumny 8.16: “The pretexts you clearly invented about me have failed you.”

Plato’s Menexenus 234b: “For the vigor which once I had has gone from me.”

Old Testament: This term means to die, to fail, to leave off, to stop, and to eclipse (overshadow).

New Testament: This term means to fail, to end, and to cease.

Lk.16:9: “I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth (mammon), so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” (One must make prudent use of one’s wealth. One must have constant trust and fidelity to those in positions of responsibility. There is an incompatibility of serving God and being a slave to riches.)

Parable of the Disabled Steward:

  1. The dishonest steward wrote generous notes to ingratiate himself with the debtors.
  2. Mammon (earthly treasures) fail because they do not last.
  3. One must make prudent use of one’s earthly material wealth.
  4. Making friends means showing kindness (mercy) in using these goods for the poor and less fortunate.
  5. While earthly goods are finite (temporary), heavenly spiritual treasures are longer lasting.
  6. Through the charitable, prudent, and creative use of earthly goods, one can accumulate permanent spiritual treasures in heaven.
  7. Faith is inadequate. Works (actions) are also required.
  8. The eternal dwellings represent the heavenly abodes.

Lk.22:32: “Satan has demanded to sift all of you sifted like wheat. But I have prayed that your won faith may not fail; and once you have turned back, you must strengthen your brothers.” (Jesus hopes that Peter does not fail in his role as leader of the apostles. Jesus warns that Satan will test and try the apostles’ faith. But the Holy Spirit will strengthen them.)

Satan will sift of you like wheat:

  1. May tempt you with trials or temptations.
  2. Will test your faith.
  3. Will try to confuse you (make your wheat [faith] look like chaff [sin and corruption]).
  4. Will seek to lead you astray.

[Greek] λείπω (leipō), [Latin] deficiente, [Latin] indigere, [German] fehlen: to lack, to need, to leave behind, to fall away, to be destitute, to be left behind, to fail, to leave, to be inferior, to be wanting, to be in need, to be forsaken; Tit.1:5, Tit.3:13, Jas.1:4,5, Jas.2:15, Lk.18:22

Lk.18:22: “When Jesus this He said to them, ‘There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come follow me.'” (Jesus calls us to be mindful of the poor who lack food and clothing. Jesus also calls us to remove our attachments to material possessions. By following Him one may hope to find lasting spiritual treasures.)

Tit.3:13: “Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey soon, and see to it that they have everything they need (so that that they may not be lacking).” (Paul directs Titus to send provisions.)

Jas.1.4-5: “And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and he will be given it.”

Perseverance in trials:

  1. These trials can be considered joyful in allowing God to intercede, strengthen, nourish and bless us.
  2. God’s discipline seeks to strengthen us and to prune us of our imperfections (weaknesses).
  3. God generously gives us wisdom when we ask for it.
  4. Wisdom is a gift that God readily grants to all who ask in faith in times of trial.

Jas.2:14-15: “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? But you do not help a brother or sister who has nothing to wear?”

Faith and works:

  1. What good is it if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
  2. How does only having faith help someone who has nothing to wear?
  3. Faith of itself, without works, is dead.
  4. Was not Abraham justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar?
  5. Faith is completed by works.
  6. A person is justified by works and not by faith alone.

General Social Survey (GSS). 9 out of 10 American cradle Catholics are leaving the Church:

  1. In each successive years, higher percentages of Catholics have left the Church.
  2. The GSS illustrates reliable data. This is a problem of great concern.
  3. SYNODALITY CONTINUES WHAT VATICAN II HAS CAUSED.
  4. The Novus Order Mass consistently has sparse Mass attendance. Huge red flag!
  5. In contrast, the Traditional Latin Mass consistently has high Mass attendance (when it is not prohibited).

What must the Catholic Church hierarchy must do to curtail or solve these problems?

  1. They must recognize these problems in the Church. (Yet, they will reply saying that Vatican II has not been fully implemented. Synodality will accomplish this.)
  2. They must acknowledge the Vatican II’s failures in catechizing Catholics. (This will not happen as long as this is not a priority. More priority is given to immigration, social justice, and environmental causes rather than catechesis, pro-life causes, and the Eucharist.)
  3. They must acknowledge that cradle Catholics, having little or now faith, have left the Church during time of DOCTRINAL, MORAL, AND LITURGICAL CONFUSION. (To do that, the Modernists and Synodalists will have to acknowledge their culpability and failures in not providing doctrinal and moral clarity.)
  4. They must acknowledge that young people, seeking doctrinal and moral clarity, are entering into the Catholic Church. (The Modernists and Synodalists will have to acknowledge that they are actually seeking to MOVE AWAY from doctrinal rigidity and clarity.)
  5. They must re-shift away from their focus on MAKING A BETTER WORLD and SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD. (However, Modernists and Synodalists will say that this is actually not a problem. This is what they have intended to do.)
  6. They must acknowledge that there must be a different way to rejuvenate and revive the Church: bringing back tradition and reverence. (This also will not happen because this will undermine their synodal efforts. Besides, Tradition is backward looking, clerical, and rigid.

Modernists (Synodalists): who often fall into the dark shadow of their ideology, actions, statements, arrogance, and hard-heartedness.

  1. The people’s rights and desires to worship as they want are continually refused and ignored. Custodes Traditiones has restricted the TLM.
  2. Modernists and Synodalists claim that the Church ecclesiology has changed (as if they know better). Tradition is rigid. The TLM is looking backward.
  3. Jesus’ Church must be reformed and renewed into a worldly synodal Church made in the image of man and his lived experiences.
  4. Cardinal Cupich cluelessly claims that the TLM impoverishes and the NOM nourishes. He makes this statement as the TLM has large attendance and the NOM has sparse attendance. This is either ignorance or willful gaslighting.
  5. Their synodal response to “correct” the Church’s problems is further reform and renewal [becoming less Catholic]. Returning to Tradition is against their belief systems.
  6. GREAT WARNING SIGNS TO COME WITH SYNODALITY: The German synodal Church is “renewing” and “reforming” itself into decline and heresy.
  7. Vatican II foolishly and naively believed that “bringing in fresh air” into the Church so that the “Church would get with the times” would help the Church. They were clearly wrong.
  8. Synodalists: “We must continue what Vatican II has started.” Modernists and Synodalists are doubling down on failure. Just look at the German Church.

From the diocese of Lansing: “Why Pius X’s condemnation of  Modernism [heresy] still matter?”

Many do not know or fail to understand why Modernism is so bad for the Church:

  1. Modernists hold that divine revelation, Church teachings, and dogmas concerning Christ’s divinity and His death can change over time.
  2. Modernism is an atheistic error.
  3. Modernism is a theory that faith and understanding of Christianity can be reduced down to a subjective experience.
  4. Faith is merely an natural instinct belonging to the emotions, which cannot be expressed words or doctrinal formulations.
  5. Synodality (lived experiences) is just a continuation of Modernism.

Democrats and Progressives gaslighting and failing to “read the room”:

  1. Opposing the government’s efforts to reduce crime in their own cities.
  2. Saying that there is no crime when your constituents say otherwise.
  3. Claiming that your city’s crime problem is due to lack of housing.
  4. Disregarding your constituents’ concerns because you do not want to appear weak or because you have Trump Derangement Syndrome.
  5. Gaslighting others in thinking that the government’s efforts to reduce crime is really fascism.
  6. Failing to acknowledge the problem: you cannot criticize these black criminals because you would be called racist.

We must leave out important details about the Minneapolis shooting:

  1. First of all, we all must offer our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
  2. We must not talk about any mention of thoughts and prayers. This is ghoulish, atheist, and secular animosity against prayer. They say, “What good are prayers for?” “We need gun control!”
  3. We must ignore the shooter’s evil intentions. This is gun violence.
  4. We must not mention that this is an ideology. We must ignore the blueprints, statements, and manifesto.
  5. We must not villainize trans persons because that would be hateful. Just ignore the past correlation of trans people with other shootings.
  6. We must not say that the shooter had gender dysphoria or mental illness. That would be hurtful. We must ignore the shooters handwritten post, “I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself.”
  7. We must ignore that trans-persons are often indoctrinated with left wing ideologies.
  8. We must ignore that drugs, chemicals, and hormone blockers are actually altering the person’s original body chemistry.
  9. We must ignore that “being inspired by Satan” could be the cause for this evil.***
  10. We must ignore the statement of Dr. Paul McHugh, professor of Psychiatry, John Hopkins School of Medicine: “Transgenderism is the only mental illness demanding that the rest of society adopt the patient’s delusion as part of the patient’s treatment.”

Fr. Nix: “Liberal Catholicism is the Way of Death [Failure]:

  1. The mother failed his son. The shooter’s mother approved of this person’s name change and transition.
  2. The parish failed in not providing adequate catechesis and instruction on transgenderism.
  3. The US bishops have also failed by not providing adequate catechesis on transgenderism. The US bishops have not been clear against this.
  4. The Church has failed in not saying, “Go and sin no more.”
  5. Good doctrine leads to life.
  6. Bad doctrine leads to inclusion, toleration, false compassion, openness to LGBTQ values, gender dysphoria, transgenderism ==> heresy, sin, death.***

Etymology: The Greek verb ekleipo means to leave (-leipo) out (ek-). The Latin noun eclipsis is a darkness or a failing of appearing.

Conclusion:

Eclipse, deficiency, deficient, abandon, fall, fell, indigent, defect

Update: The USCCB, Catholic agencies, and Catholic charities have been making friends with dubious organizations pertaining to illegal immigration and child trafficking. This has involved secretive financial transactions with governmental agencies. Fortunately, the money spigot has turned off. The American people are happy about this.

Further lacking in public awareness: The USCCB are actually doubling down against the government in seeking to restore government funding for their agencies. This not a good look, focusing more on immigration rather than on catechesis, pro-life issues, and the Eucharist.

Satan continues to sift the laity in his efforts to undermine their beliefs and faithfulness to the Church. Some are now demeaning the notion of prayer during this Minneapolis tragedy. Very hurtful and ghoulish! ***

Satan continues to sift the clergy in his efforts to undermine the clergy in the Church from within.

  1. Satan seeks to undermine the individual priest and undermine Church teachings.
  2. It is important to note that Pope Paul VI stated that the “smoke of Satan” has entered into the Church.
  3. The “smoke of Satan” refers to the moral and doctrinal confusion, upheaval, and ambiguity in the Church.***

Failing to remove oneself from attachments, worldliness, and politics:

  1. Laity often have difficulties in removing themselves from material possessions and in giving to the poor.
  2. Too many clergy often focus too much on global efforts of immigration and illegal immigration rather than on immediate needs close by. These become inverted priorities.

Failing to be synodal: The Vatican welcomed the LGBTQ community to the Vatican Jubilee 2025, but not the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (SSPX). Not a good look!

Failing in being educated in the faith: The parishioners at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church seem be triggered by traditional Catholic teaching, discipline, practices, and liturgical music implemented at this church.  The parishioners initiated a petition against the pastor for upsetting their liberal attitudes.

Liberal Catholicism: These beliefs system provide more openness to LGBTQ advocacy. Tolerance, inclusion, mercy, and false compassion tend take precedence over Church teachings Transgenderism is a great evil. Satan would happily approve of these efforts to undermine the Catholic faith. ***

The convergence of TRANS-PERSONS, GENDER DYSPHORIA, MENTAL ILLNESS, LEFT-WING IDEOLOGY, CHEMICAL ALTERATION OF THE BODY, and VIOLENT TENDANCIES have been recently put in the shadows. NOT ANY MORE! It is inevitable that there will be a greater focus on these factors.

UK: A Tale of Two Countries: The UK is seemingly turning itself into a police state in terms of personal liberties. On the other hand, the UK has seemingly failed to clamp down on crime caused by the Moslem “guests” in the country. There is now a scandal about hiding crime statistics.

“Not to oppose error is to approve it. and not to defend truth is to suppress it; and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage it.” Pope St. Felix II

*** “At the root of this (gender ideology) is the work of Satan, who wants to build an actual anti-creation. This is the ultimate and terrible challenge which Satan is hurling at God.” Cardinal Caffarra     (This will be a very difficult and hard reality for many people to accept.)

“All the evils of the world are due to lukewarm Catholics.” Pope Pius V   (This applies to both clergy and laity.)

“The greatest obstacle in the apostolate of the Church is the timidity or rather the cowardice of the faithful.” Pope Pius X
