[Greek] ἀγνοέω (agnoeō), [Latin] ignorare, [Latin] ignorantes, [Latin] ignoramus, [Latin] ignotus: to ignore, to not know, to be ignorant, to not pay attention, to not recognize, to fail to understand; 25 scriptural references

In our current society, this “old fashioned” notion (God creating male and female) has often become a difficult reality to accept.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to be mistaken, to fail to know, to not recognize, to do nothing, to fail to understand, unknown, to go wrong, and to be ignorant.

Polybius’ Histories 38.9.5: “The common people were ready to obey any order he gave, being incapable of taking thought for the future.”

Plato’s Phaedrus 22e: “I have forgotten myself.”

Herodotus’ The Histories 4.156: “They were ignorant of the cause of their misfortune.”

Plato’s Phaedrus 277d: “Ignorance of right or wrong and good and bad is in truth inevitably a disgrace.”

Plato’s Gorgias 517c: “For during all this time that we have been debating, we have never ceased circling around to the same point and misunderstanding each other.”

Old Testament: This term means to be ignorant, to not know, unknown, to be wrong, to be unsure, to trespass, and to be foolish. This term is often defined by one’s relationship with God. Not knowing can mean ignorance, error, rejection, and disobedience to God.

New Testament: This term means not understanding (ignorant), not acknowledging (recognizing), unaware, and unknown.

Noteworthy scriptures:

Mk.9:32: “The disciples did not understand that the Son of Man will be handed over, killed, and later be risen.”(Second prediction of the Passion)

Acts 17:23: “I even discovered an altar inscribed ‘To an Unknown God’ you unknowingly worship. “(Paul perceives and appeals to the Athenians’ religiosity [belief in the divine].)

Rom. 2:4: “Do you hold God’s priceless kindness, forbearance, and patience in low esteem, unaware that kindness of God would lead you to repentance?” (The Jews cannot condemn the sins of Gentiles without condemning themselves.)

Rom.10:3: “In their unawareness of the God’s righteousness and their attempt to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.” (Israel must recognize that Jesus’ arrival means the termination of the Mosaic law.)

Rom.11:25: “I do not want you to be unaware that you will not become wise: a hardening has come upon Israel, until the the full number of the Gentiles come in.” (In God’s design, Israel’s unbelief is being used to grant the light of faith to the Gentiles. In spite of the Israel’ unbelief, they remain dear to God.)

2Cor.2:11: “So that we might not be taken advantage of by Satan, for we are not unaware of his purposes.” (Paul calls upon the Corinthians to effectively and compassionately punish any one who has cause offence. This is necessary as to not allow Satan to take advantage of this scandal or crisis.)

Heb.5:2: “He is able to deal patiently with the ignorant and erring, for He Himself is beset by weakness.” (Jesus has the ability to sympathize with others.)

2Pet.2:12: These false teachers revile things that they do not understand, and in their destruction they will also be destroyed.” (False teachers will be judged for their actions.)

Ignorance: “Houston, what is the problem!” Gender Ideology and LGBTQ ideology

God’s creation and moral laws:

  1. God created two distinct genders who are complimentary (whose bodies fit together).
  2. Marriage is a fruitful and sacred institution for procreation designed by God.
  3. All other forms of marriage in contrast to God’s designs are by definition disordered (sinful).
  4. Homosexual relations are disordered and unfruitful.
  5. Abortion is a mortal sin (despite others think that is a “right”).

What is Satan’s endgame (ultimate objective)?

  1. To take advantage of unstable and vulnerable persons.
  2. To become an obstacle to God. To encourage others to become an obstacle to God.
  3. To upend, to destroy, to undermine, and to redefine God’s creation and moral laws.
  4. To undermine (change) God’s moral institutions: marriage, procreation, and gender.
  5. To encourage pornography to undermine the dignity and respect for the male and female body.
  6. To influence us through, possession, busyness, enticement, distraction, deceit, “pushing our buttons and desires”, and vulnerabilities.

What are many of us unaware of?

  1. More and more de-transitioners (transgenders regretting their decisions) are coming out and speaking against this.
  2. Sweden, UK, Denmark, and France have now started to end these procedures. (The US usually will follow later in the same conclusions).
  3. Puberty blockers and opposite sex hormones have a greater likelihood for causing sterilization.
  4. The evidence shows that sexual abuse trauma plays an important part in gender dysphoria.
  5. Transgenders have a 20% higher suicide rate.
  6. Puberty actually clears up and corrects gender dysphoria. 🤯 (Mind blown!)
  7. The American College of Pediatricians  has called for the immediate cessation of  puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents.

“For around 80% of children who meet the criteria for gender dysphoria in childhood, the gender dysphoria recedes with puberty.” National Institutes of Health March 2018

Etymology: The Latin verb form ignoramus literally meant “we do not know”. This term originally meant just of lack of knowledge. Now this term is now considered to be an insult.

Conclusion:

Agnostic, ignore, ignorance, ignoramus

These meanings could be applicable in any point in history in terms of human behavior. These references include all our collective time-honored failures of being short-sighted, misunderstanding each other, not knowing right from wrong, and misunderstanding what we stand for.

The disciples are ‘perfect’ examples of what it means to lack understanding and to be clueless. The disciples did not understand Jesus’ mission to redeem humanity.

Paul mentions that the Jews were unaware of the true nature of Christ. The Jews were clouded by their prejudices, pride, and preconceived notions.

Many are often unware of God’s forbearance (being slow to anger).

Paul reminds each and everyone one of us that we need to show forgiveness and encouragement for those who find themselves in sinful situations.

Update: In our society, Satan can influence each one of us in such ways we may not even realize.

Many of us are unaware that it can take just a small “push” or “nudge” to act out in behavior that may destroy and undermine our relationship with God. Satan would only be happy for you to do this. Just look at Peter!

In our society academic gender studies has transformed into a widespread gender theology changing and redefining God’s plan for creating gender.

Our society has now blurred male/female distinctions, can identify with any gender one wants, and can surgically change one’s body. Many cannot even answer the question: “What is a woman?”

Our society has now allowed and permitted gay marriage, essentially and undermining and redefining God and man’s marriage relationship.

In light of Fiducia Supplicans, many clergy, in refusing to condemn the sin of homosexuality and same-sex unions, are actually condemning themselves in failing to lead souls into heaven. One wonders if this is a deliberate intent or theological ignorance (under the guise of “inclusion and tolerance”.

For some, one’s inner reality or delusion (becoming any gender one wants to be) may often conflict with objective reality.

Our society now allows and permit abortion (killing the child in the womb) because “it is my right”, “it is my body, and “I can do whatever I want.” It now seems that one’s rights trump what God says.

Our current society has encouraged a culture of homosexuality and sexual proclivities among the priesthood. What better way for Satan to undermine priests who are supposed to be spiritual fathers and spiritual spouses to their congregation.

The Modernists are condemning themselves in causing liturgical confusion and chaos in the Church. These Modernists will also be held accountable for harming the Church. Pope Paul VI’s “smoke of Satan” refers to liturgical confusion and chaos.

Many are now recognizing that Pope Francis’ Traditiones Custodes is seeking to remove the Traditional Latin Mass, a liturgical celebration that has existed for most of the Church’s existence.

Pope Francis’ Dignitas Infinitas ignorantly claims that man has “infinite dignity”. One wonders if this conclusion was reached by deliberate deception or shoddy theology.

Pope Pius X’s encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis (1907) foretells that vital immanence (perceiving God and religion within themselves) produces subjective doctrine and theology based on one’s experiences. This inevitably leads to a practical atheism where God becomes less relevant in one’s life.

Modernist false teachers are not teaching Jesus’ command to sin no more (Jn.8:11). The scandal is that homosexuality and same-sex unions are NOT being called out as sinful.

Quotes by St. Augustine:

“Ignorance itself is without a doubt a sin for those who not wish to understand. For those who, however, cannot understand, it is the punishment of sin.”

“It is worse still to be ignorant of your ignorance.”
