[Greek] λανθάνω (lanthanō), [Latin] latere, [French] cacher: to escape notice, to be hidden, to be ignorant of, to forget; Mk.7:24, Lk.8:47, Acts 26:26, Heb.13:2, 2Pet.3:5,8

In First Address on Climate Change, Pope Leo Signals Continuity With Francis—and Opposition to Trump - Inside Climate News

It has not escaped notice that many saw this event as a foolish pagan environmental ritual. One CANNOT be surprised when the Vatican (and Synodal Church) are so much focused on MAKING A BETTER WORLD and SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to go unnoticed, to be blind, to escape (notice), to remain hidden, to be deceived, to forget, and to be unaware:

Escaping notice: This expression essentially means to go unnoticed, to avoid being seen, and failing to respond to something.

Aristophanes’ Knights 465: “His tricks at Argos do not escape me.”

Homer’s Odyssey 19.151: “Thus for three years I kept the Achaeans from knowing and beguiled them.”

Euripides’ Alcestis 198: “But since he has escaped death, he lives with such grief as he will never forget.”

Aeschylus’ Agamemnon 796: “But whoever is a discerning shepherd of his flock cannot be deceived by men’s eyes which fawn affection.”

Aristophanes’ Wasps 517: “You are their slave and do not know it.”

Old Testament: This term means to hide, to conceal, to destroy, to act covertly, to act treacherously, to find lacking, and to help. Interestingly, showing hospitality to strangers (Heb.13:2) is related to Abraham and Sarah showing hospitality to three visitors (Gen.18). Because of their hospitality toward the strangers, the visitors proclaimed that Abraham and Sarah will have a son. They received a blessing for their kindness to others.

New Testament: This term means to escape notice, to forget, to neglect, and to not know.

Lk.8:47: “When the hemorrhagic woman realized she had not escaped notice, she came forward trembling. Falling down before Him, she explained in the presence of all the people why she had touched Him and how she had been healed immediately.” (The hemorrhagic woman approached Jesus and touched His tassel. She was immediately healed because she had faith that she would be healed by Him. Jesus mentioned that power had gone out of Him.)

Acts 26:26: “The king knows about these matters and to him I speak boldly, for I cannot believe that any of this has escaped his notice; this was not done in a corner.” (The phrase ‘not done in a corner’ is a Greek proverb meaning that it is already known. Paul is presenting a story about Jesus and the Church that is already well known. Luke provides certainty in relating that the entire history of Christianity is public knowledge and incontestable.)

Heb.13:2: “Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.” (The Hebrew Christians are called to offer hospitality to their Christian brother and strangers. Angels could be men or special visitors from God.)

2Pet.3:8: “But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day.” (The delay of the Lord’s coming is not a failure to fulfill His word but rather a sign of His patience. God is giving time for repentance before the judgment. Likewise, as in life, it quite often seems that God works much to slow for us for our liking.)

[Greek] ἐπιλανθάνομαι (epilanthanomai), [Latin] obliviscere: to forget, to neglect, to overlook

Mt.16:5: “In coming to the other side of the sea, the disciples had forgotten to bring bread.”

The leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees:

  1. Jesus warns the disciples to beware of the rebellious and corrupting Pharisees’ and Sadducees’ leaven (teaching).
  2. The disciples thought the Jesus was referring to actual bread.
  3. Jesus criticized the disciples for their lack of faith.
  4. Jesus stated that the disciples’ hearts were hardened, having eyes but not seeing, and having ears but not hearing.
  5. Jesus warns the disciples’ human traditions, worldliness, corrupt teachings, hypocrisy, unbelief, and lived experiences.

Lk.12:6: “Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God.”

Courage under persecution:

  1. There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.
  2. Whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light.
  3. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but after that can do no more.
  4. Be afraid of the one who after killing has the power to cast into Gahenna.
  5. To God, you are worth more important than many sparrows.
  6. Everyone who acknowledges Me before others, the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God.
  7. Everyone who denies Me before others will be denied before the angels of God.

Jas.1:24: “He sees himself, then goes off and promptly forgets what he looked like.”

Doers and hearers of the Word:

  1. Be doers of the word and not hearers of the word, only deluding yourselves.
  2. A hearer of the word is like a man who looks at his own face in a mirror. He sees himself, then goes off and promptly forgets what he looks like.
  3. A doer of the word is one who peers into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres.
  4. A doer of the word is one who shall be blessed in what he does.

Beware of the leaven of the Modernists and Synodalists:

  1. Unfortunately, the Synodal Church continues to focus on MAKING A BETTER WORLD and SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD. This is Not done in a corner.
  2. At every opportunity, the Synodal Church continues to illustrates these priorities. Now doubling down on immigration against President Trump.
  3. Bringing souls into heaven: This has NOT become a great priority for the Church. This presumes recognition of sin
  4. Becomes hearers of the Word: This Synodal Church continues to bestow inclusion and tolerance instead of stating sin. They DO NOT SEE that homosexuality is sinful.
  5. Becoming hearers of the Word: This Synodal Church DOES NOT FOLLOW AND HEAR Jesus’ command, “Go and sin no more!” (Jn.8:11).

Pascendi Dominici Gregis (“Feeding the Lord’s Flock”): Pope St. Pius’ encyclical, promulgated on Sept 8, 1907, exposes the tactics used by Modernists to spread their errors in the Church.

Modernists seek to:

  1. Hide (escape notice) in the Church: staying within the Church, acting like wolves in sheep’s clothing, using mischievous and subtle ways to change Church doctrine and teachings
  2. Attack, redefine, and ignore Church teachings
  3. Manipulate (change) public opinion about Church teachings
  4. Synodalists remake Jesus’ Church into a Church made into the image of man and his lived experiences.
  5. Synodalists elevate lived experiences over Church teachings. Making Synodality as an IDOL.
  6. Synodalists create a “listening Church” where clergy and laity share decision making authority to determine doctrine. SOUNDS LIKE MAKING THE CHURCH MORE PROTESTANT!

Immigration:

  1. Offering hospitality: We should be offering hospitality (comfort) for the poor and destitute in our IMMEDIATE spheres of influence.
  2. Inverted priorities: We cannot escape notice that the Church has now redoubled its efforts to focus on immigrants (illegal immigrants) at this time.
  3. We cannot escape notice that the Democrats are going to “politically die on the hill” for supporting funds for illegals.
  4. Many also forget that Catholic social teaching also advocates that immigrants (foreigners) must also respect countries’ borders.
  5. It has not escape notice that Pope Leo has ordered the American bishops to double down on opposing President Trump on immigration.

Aristophanes: Even secular Greek philosophy can illustrate that slavery to sin and addiction

Aristophanes: Actions, antics, and tricks can often be calling cards or red flags for one’s behavior. We only need to look at sanctuary cities such as Chicago and Portland.

Old Testament: Gen. 18: clearly illustrates the importance of providing hospitality to strangers. Yet, this should be done in appropriate and proper ways.

Conclusion:

Oblivion, oblivious, latent, cache

Update: It has not escaped notice that the meme can be mightier than the sword or the pen. ☺☺☺

Because of continued tolerance and inclusion for the LGBTQ, the Vatican, Pope Leo and the USCCB still remain quiet about the criticism against the Vatican LGBTQ Jubilee.

It seems that Pope Leo’s papacy is continuing to neglect of liturgical law and tradition, paving the way for widespread confusion about faith and morals

What was missing from the blessing of the ice? THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE  GOSPEL.

It has not escaped notice that Gov. Pritzker and Mayor John are saying to the federal authorities, “Leave our crime alone!

The Oregon and Portland authorities seem to be saying, “What crime?”

It is quite evident that Pope Francis and Pope Leo both neglect the Church historical tradition that capital punishment can sometimes be permitted.

One cannot escape notice that Democrat Abigail Spanberger is a cold and calculating candidate who refuses to answer moral questions

Many of us can all relate to thinking of ourselves as being unworthy or being an outcast in approaching the Lord. Let’s not forget that the Lord welcomes all of us at Eucharistic adoration.

Many of us can all relate to thinking that God “annoying acts too slowly” in helping us or answering our prayers. God seemingly works very slowly in His Providence.

It is during times of great disbelief (lack of faith) that Eucharistic miracles may occur to strengthen our faith of the people.

Questionable ecumenism going too far: The Vatican is allowing a Moslem prayer run in the Vatican library. Islam is incompatible with Catholicism and Christianity.

Our actions will not escape the notice of God. At the end of the day, God will “reward” those who persevere through these difficulties. God will also “reward” those scandalous clergy who fail to act as priests. God will not be mocked!

“All sin comes from forgetfulness of God.” St. Gregory of Nazianzus

“Don’t neglect your spiritual reading. Reading has made many saints.” Josemaria Escriva

“There is nothing unpremeditated, nothing neglected by God. His unsleeping eye beholds all things.”

“Not to oppose error is to approve it, and not to defend truth is to suppress it. and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin to encourage them.”  Pope St. Felix III
