[Greek] (antilegō), [Latin] contradicere, [Latin] negare, [French] contester; to contradict, to deny, to oppose, to say nothing, to object, to refute, to denounce; Lk.2:34, Lk.20:27, Jn.19:12, Acts 13:45, Acts 28:19,22, Rom.10:21, Tit.1:9, Tit.2:9

A traditional Latin Mass at the Vatican on Saturday.

In St. Peter’s Basilica, about 5000 people attended this TLM. This highly attended Mass essentially contradicts the Vatican’s narrative that the Church’s ecclesiology has changed.

Background information:

Greek Hellenism: This term means to speak against, to contradict, to tell a tale in reply, and to dispute.

Euripides’ Hippolytus 993: “I shall begin to speak from the point where you first attacked me expecting you would destroy me with not a word to say in reply.”

Xenophon’s Memorabilia 4.6.13: “Whenever anyone argued with him on any point without being able to make himself clear, he would lead the whole discussion back to the definition required.

Aristophanes’ Lysistrata 806: “Well, I’ll relate a rival fable just to show you a different point of view.”

Old Testament: This term means to move, to turn back, to retreat, to apostatize, to contend, and to complain.

Isa.8:14: “He shall be a snare, a stone for injury, a rock for stumbling to both the houses of Israel, a trap and snare to those who dwell in Jerusalem.”

New Testament: This term means to contradict, to deny, to refute, to oppose, to object, to speak against, and to talk back.

Lk.2:34: “Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, ‘Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted.'” (Jesus will cause some to fall (stumble) and to rise (be saved). This passage refers to Isaiah prophesying that the Messiah will be a snare and stumbling block for those who cannot accept Him. [Isa. 8:14] Jesus will be an object of contempt and rejection by many people.)

Lk.20:27: “Some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, came forward and put a question to Him.” (The Sadducees accepted as scripture only the first five books of the Old Testament. They rejected the oral legal traditions, opposed the resurrection of the dead, and opposed to teachings not found in the Pentateuch.)

Lk.21:15: “For I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to refute and overcome objections.” (You will be given a means of speaking, expression, and utterance to respond back. The Holy Spirit will provide (teach) you wisdom at that moment to refute your adversary [Lk.12:11-12])

Acts 13:45: “When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul has said.”

The Jews were filled with jealousy and violent abuse because:

  1. That the people would be open to hear the message that the Jews rejected.
  2. That the people would accept Jesus as a humble, lowly, and despised Messiah.
  3. That the Apostles were popular among the people.
  4. That the Gentiles were to be viewed equal to the Jews for receiving the word of God.
  5. Paul stated that it was necessary for the Jews to reject this message and condemn themselves.

Acts 28:22: “But we should like to hear you present your views, for we know that this sect is denounced everywhere.” (As a Jew, the Romans were interested in hearing Paul’s views. The new Christians were perceived as a sect (heresy) being in opposition to the Jews. The Christians often had to hide from the authorities for fear of reprisal or persecution.)

Rom.10:21: “But regarding Israel he says, ‘All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contentious people.”” (It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to the Jews, but they rejected this message of salvation. The gospel had been sufficiently proclaimed to Israel, but willful and disobedience prevented this.)

Tit.1:9: “[A bishop as God’s steward] holding fasts to the true message as taught so that he will be able to exhort with sound doctrine and to refute opponents.” (Paul instructs Titus to appoint upright, blameless, just, holy, and self-controlled presbyters holding fast to sound doctrine. The presbyter is called to teach and encourage the faithful. The presbyter is also called to refute and to persuasively convince opponents and adversaries.)

[Greek] ἀντιλογία (antilogia)

Heb.12:3: “Consider how He endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart.” (Jesus had to endure the cross [like a slave] before receiving the glory of His triumph. Jesus provides us encouragement as we undergo difficulties and struggles. Some are even called to share in His sufferings.)

Pope Leo’s curious statement: “The supreme rule in the Church is love.”

  1. The supreme law of the Catholic Church is the SALVATION OF SOULS (as stated in Canon 1752 in the 1983 Code of Canon Law.
  2. As a canon lawyer, it is VERY PERPLEXING that Pope Leo would not know this.
  3. It seems that Pope Leo’s synodal mindset focuses more on MAKING A BETTER WORLD and SEEKING FAVOR WITH THE WORLD.
  4. In this synodal Church, it is evident that there is NO FOCUS ON BRINGING SOULS INTO HEAVEN AND NO MENTION OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN.
  5. There is no emphasis on forgiveness, conversion of heart, and sin. There is NO MENTION of the Church’s teachings against homosexuality.
  6. There is more focus tolerance, inclusion, false compassion, and “mercy above all else.

Modernists’ antipathy and opposition against Tradition: (adapting to the world and culture):

  1. Share decision making authority between clergy and laity. (Giving poorly catechized laity decision-making authority? What could ever possibly go wrong with this??)
  2. Ignoring and diminishing the importance of Jesus’ command to sin no more (Jn.8:11): focusing on “mercy above all else”
  3. Synodal path: remaking Jesus’ Church in a synodal Church (in the image of man and his lived experiences).
  4. They are “keeping the door open on” women deacons: because women’s right’s have been disenfranchised and confusion of rights/vocations.
  5. The Tradition Latin Mass (TLM) is now considered as divisive because it competes the Novus Order Mass (and new Church ecclesiology). Therefore, the TLM must go!
  6. Cardinal Cupic believes that the Traditional Latin Mass impoverishes and creates a spectacle in the church?? He says this while the Novus Order Masses attendance is dwindling and churches are closing.
  7. As the older progressive clergy continue to retire and die out, the Vatican seeks to push Synodality as an counterbalancing lay influence against when the younger traditional clergy will eventually lead the Church.

Conclusion:

Contradict, contradiction, negate, negation, antilog

Scandalon: This Greek noun means stumbling block, snare, and trap, which can lead to scandal.

Update: Jesus’ statements (commandments) to sin no more (Jn.8:11-12) has become a sign of contradiction (stumbling block) for the Synodal Church. Sin, forgiveness, and conversion of heart is never mentioned. More focus is being given to inclusion, tolerance, and false compassion.

Many clergy and laity in the Church now deny that homosexuality is any longer sinful. Many have ignored or have paid lip service to the Church teachings against homosexuality. As a result, many souls will be in eternal peril for this sinful activity at the judgment.

Many Modernist and Synodalist clergy are denying the laity’s desire and preference to celebrate the TLM. This has become a heated liturgical battle between traditionalists and progressives.

More and people are discovering that Pope Leo is following Pope Francis with Synodality. Pope Leo is being further criticized for actions and statements through all forms of media. It is becoming more difficult for pope-splainers to refute this.

Pope Pius X had prophesied that the heretical Modernists would take leadership in the Church. How are the Synodalists any different from the Modernists?

The traditional Transalpine Redemptorist monks claim that the TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC FAITH IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW SYNODAL CHURCH. These monks will most likely be perceived as sects by the Church for being “divisive”.

Traditional Catholics, continue to undergo difficulties and and struggles in being faithful and accepting toward the Synodal Church leadership who seek to change and remake the Church.

Confusion about vocations and rights: Pope Leo is open to women deacons. This Synodal mindset (what the people want) equates rights with vocations. Vocations and rights are NOT EQUAL.

Refuting German Synodal vitality: There were only 29 ordinations in Germany for 2024. This is a great warning sign for Synodality for the larger Church.

More synodal denying Church teachings against homosexuality : the Italian bishops promotes the inclusion and support of LGBTQ+ people who are “hurt” and are discriminated against [by Church teachings].

The Vatican’s strange war against its traditions: Progressives’ narrative connecting the TLM to extremism and impiety continues to fail as the younger people continue to attend the TLM. It remains to be seen whether or not Pope Leo will stop this division (in allowing the TLM)

Vatican II and Synodality’s false narrative: “The Church must get with the times” ===> a declining Church.  TRADITION AND TRADITIONAL TEACHINGS BRINGS FORTH TRUE REFORM AND RENEWAL.

“Each generation is converted by the saint who contradicts it most.” GK Chesterton

“False compassion, which is gradually growing in this country, is a pity that is shown not to the mugged but to the mugger, not the family of the murdered but to the murderer.” Archbishop Sheen

“The sin of this century is the loss of the sense of sin.” Pope Pius XII
